 Andy began painting watercolors in the mid 1990's, is largely self-taught, and has studied with such well-known watercolorists as Skip Lawrence, Eric Weigardt, and Alvaro Castagnet. He served as President of the Minnesota Watercolor Society from 2004-2006 and teaches workshops around the midwest.

His paintings have appeared on the cover of American Artist's Watercolor magazine and in International Artist and American Art Collector magazines.

He is taking part in Coleman Fine Art's 'Wet Paint 2007' plein-air event March 19-23, where 4 artists from around the country are invited to paint the city of Charleston SC for a week with a show of completed works held from March 20-April 7.

   * Best of Show for "Sunbathers" at MNWS's 2006 Fall Show at the Blaine City Hall
   * 1st Place Honors for "Woke Up in a Fog" at MNWS's 2005 Fall Show at the Banfill-Locke Art Center in Fridley, MN
   * 1st Place Honors for "Morning Glare" at MNWS's 2005 Spring Show at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts
   * Best in Show for Painting at the 2003 Uptown Art Fair in Minneapolis
   * 1st Place Honors and The People's Choice Award for "Sunset on Hwy 95" at MNWS's 2003 Fall Show at the Phipps Center in Hudson, WI
